To enhance the app download experience, for Android users the Google Play Store has been upgraded to allow downloading applications at once. Previously users had to wait for one app to finish installing before starting another. Now they can choose two apps to download on their device. This new feature speeds up the process of loading programs and content.
During testing it was observed that large apps like Google Docs and OfficeSuite can now be downloaded simultaneously of one after the other. Users will see both apps downloading and installing together on their phone without any delays, between installations. While this update currently supports downloading two apps there is speculation that this limit may be increased in the future.
What Else Has Changed With App Downloads?

While the introduction of downloads has significantly improved installation speeds it’s important to note that this enhancement currently only applies to new app downloads. The Google Play Store still processes app updates sequentially suggesting there is room, for improvements in this aspect. Enabling background updates for apps could lead to greater time savings in the long run. Nevertheless the ability to download two apps simultaneously has effectively halved the wait time for users.
Given its status as one of the leading marketplaces it comes as no surprise that the Google Play Store is consistently exploring ways to enhance the app user experience. Faster downloads translate to waiting time and more enjoyment of content. It will be intriguing to observe if additional download optimizations are introduced in conjunction with this feature. At present Android users can already benefit from reduced app loading times courtesy of this upgrade, from their trusted app store.
