Before this year is brought to a close, Sony has officially revealed the launch of its enhanced console known as the PS5 Pro derived from the basic model of the same category. During a special technical presentation, Mark Cerny, the lead architect of the PS5, revealed that the PS5 Pro improves upon its predecessor in three key areas: a greater data processer in the graphical unit, integrated features of ray tracing as well as self-learning algorithm-based enhancing techniques.
Scheduled to release on November 7th at $699. 99, the PS5 Pro is using some design similar to that of the slim version of the PS5 as leak suggested earlier. On the side of the console there are three stripes and there is no in-built disc drive and although you can get a 4K Blu-ray disc drive and console covers as additional accessories.
PS5 Pro Specs: A Significant Upgrade
Beneath the hood, there are some enormous changes on the PS5 Pro. The GPU has been enhanced in terms of Compute units with an increase by 67% from the current PS5 and the memory is 28% faster. These enhancements lead to rendering of games that are 45 percent faster giving players a magnificent performance based on increased detail and increased frame rates without the need to select between performance and fidelity modes available earlier.
The PS5 Pro also comes with Sony’s new Artificial Intelligence implementation within the PlayStation called the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution or PSSR which shares similarities with Nvidia’s DLSS or AMD’s FSR. As expected, this customized PSSR upscaling is intended to override a game’s original temporal anti-aliasing or upsampling while improving the attractiveness and efficiency of PlayStation games.
