Giant Chinese telecommunication company, Huawei, has flooded the smartphone market with wonders by racking up nearly 3.1 million pre-orders for its new rollable trifold smartphone. On the company’s website, visitors saw the scale of orders on Monday (Sept. 9), and it clearly demonstrated that Huawei managed to attract the consumer’s attention before the iPhone 16 release.
The pre-order for this foldable gadget from Huawei started on Saturday (Sept 7), making the Chinese giant commence selling the device two days earlier than Apple’s rumored AI-focused iPhone 16. Although kept under wraps for a while, Richard Yu, head of the Huawei’s consumer business group, used Weibo to reveal that the trifold phone is going to be officially unveiled next Tuesday (September,10), right after Apple’s event held in Beijing.
Huawei’s Rise in China’s Smartphone Market
The success of Huawei foldable smartphone comes at a time where China smartphone market is undergoing certain changes. This is for the first time that Chinese companies have topped the list with all five companies occupying the charts while Apple has fallen out of the top five smartphone vendors in china based on another research firm Canalys second quarter data. Even so, Huawei was able to achieve fourth position and sold 10. 6 million phones in the quarter.
With the release of its new AI-driven iPhone 16 coming in the future, specialists continue to think that the utilisation of AI in digital commerce will bring significant changes. The use of AI in Apple mobile wallet and ability to provide better and more context-aware financial experiences has raised a lot of interest in the industry. However, with the early lead in a new concept of foldable smartphones, the Chinese tech giant Huawei seems to have carved a niche for it in the ever-growing smartphone market.
