Intel: No Recall for Affected Raptor Lake CPUs

Intel confirms there will be no recall for affected Raptor Lake CPUs.

Intel has finally shed some light on the instability issues affecting 13th and 14th generation Raptor Lake CPUs. The company confirmed that both K series processors and non K 65W TDP variants could face these problems. This update has disappointed users who have been grappling with instability, in their Raptor Lake CPUs.

A notable disclosure is that Intel has decided against recalling the impacted Raptor Lake CPUs. They have advised users with affected processors to consider them permanently damaged, as even the forthcoming microcode update will not resolve the issue. This means that users who previously tried to return their processors due to this issue can again contact Intel support, for assistance.

Firmware Updates and Ongoing Validation

Intel No Recall for Affected Raptor Lake CPUs

For individuals using Raptor Lake CPUs that are not impacted Intel suggests updating the firmware to support Intel Default Settings or applying the microcode update, which is said to resolve the issue. However this might not sit well with those who prefer not to make changes, to their BIOS.

Intel has stressed that the validation process is ongoing with CPUs now being considered potentially affected. The company is dedicated to assisting all customers encountering stability issues with their 13th and 14th generation desktop processors through the replacement process. This involves collaborating with Intels retail and channel partners to ensure end users receive assistance, for stability concerns related to their Raptor Lake CPUs.
