This new addition to Steams set of features is expected to change how gamers share their gaming adventures with friends and the gaming community.
The new system includes two recording modes. The Background Recording mode allows saving of gameplay, to a chosen storage location with options to customize recording duration and storage limits. On the hand the On Demand Recording mode enables users to start and stop recording as they wish. These choices make it simple for gamers to capture their moments without disrupting their gaming experience.
Seamless Editing and Sharing
Steams latest timeline feature and player added event markers make it effortless to locate moments in your gameplay recordings. Achievements, screenshots and, in game events can automatically create markers in supported games. The user friendly editing tools built into the platform allow gamers to easily create clips from their recordings.
Sharing your gaming highlights is now more convenient than ever with the one sharing option. Whether you want to share a video during a chat with a friend or showcase it to an audience Steam has got you covered. Recordings can also be easily transferred between devices, such as from your Steam Deck to your PC and temporary links to MP4 files can be shared via the Steam Mobile App or using a QR code.
The new Replay mode, accessible through the Steam Overlay in every game enables users to swiftly review their gameplay sessions. This functionality proves handy for analyzing mistakes made when your character meets their demise or recalling information mentioned by an NPC earlier, in the game.
