Spotify Unveils New $10.99 Premium Plan, No Audiobooks

This new plan, priced at $10.99 per month does not include access to Spotifys range of audiobooks.

Spotify, the known music streaming service has recently introduced a Basic paid subscription option that offers users a lower price, for uninterrupted music streaming. The twist? This new plan, priced at $10.99 per month does not include access to Spotifys range of audiobooks.

On the hand the standard Premium Individual plan, which costs $11.99 per month gives users ad listening and allows for 15 hours of audiobook listening each month with access to over 250,000 titles. However with the addition of the Basic plan Spotify now caters to customers who prefer an affordable subscription focused solely on music and are not interested, in audiobooks.

Spotify’s Price Adjustment Strategy

Spotify Unveils New $10.99 Premium Plan, No Audiobooks

In June Spotify decided to increase its base price from $10.99, to $11.99 stating their goal of enhancing user experience. However they later adjusted the Basic plan back to the $10.99/month rate making it an appealing choice for those who value ad music streaming over access to audiobooks. This adjustment now aligns Spotifys base music subscription cost with that of its rival, Apple Music, which charges $10.99 monthly.

It’s important to mention that the pricing for Spotify plans has not changed. The Duo plan remains at $16.99 while the Family plan is priced at $19.99. Moreover a $9.99 per month option is available from Spotify that includes 15 hours of audiobook listening in addition to ad supported music streaming. Through this revised plan Spotify aims to accommodate an audience by offering increased flexibility, in features and pricing.
