The new Nest Learning Thermostat boasts AI, Matter support, and a sleek redesign.

Google recently unveiled the awaited Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) marking an upgrade to its flagship device after almost ten years. The latest Nest Learning Thermostat showcases a design, functionalities and support, for the smart home standard Matter ensuring compatibility with Apple Home. Priced at $279.99 the thermostat package includes the Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen). Is now open for preorders in the US and Canada with shipping set to commence on August 20th.

The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) sports an eye catching appearance featuring a 2.7 inch display screen and a sleeker silhouette. Drawing inspiration, from the Pixel Watch the device incorporates a glass screen. Customizable watch like interfaces. Offered in black, silver and gold brushed metal variations this thermostat retains its signature rotating dial—now enhanced for more precise adjustment. Additionally the Nest Learning Thermostat introduces Dynamic Farsight technology that leverages the Soli radar sensor to provide information as users approach the device.

Google has put a lot of effort into enhancing the Nest Learning Thermostats intelligence using AI to accurately learn about heating and cooling schedules. The latest features, like Natural Heating and Cooling Adaptive Eco and Smart Ventilation are designed to optimize energy usage by considering factors such as temperature and air quality. Moreover the thermostat now offers compatibility supporting 12 wire hookups and working with a range of HVAC systems that include humidifiers, dehumidifiers and ventilation equipment.

The redesigned Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen) that comes with the thermostat has been updated to match the look. Although it functions similarly to its predecessor the sensor can now average temperatures across rooms. Supports up to six sensors. Users have the option to connect sensors to schedules, in the Google Home app for ensuring comfort in areas of their homes throughout the day.
