The new sleep timer feature, on YouTube shows how the platform is dedicated to enhancing user experience for its Premium members. Many people like to listen to podcasts, music or calming videos as they drift off to sleep. The sleep timer ensures that the video stops playing after a time preventing it from running all night.

Although YouTube might be a bit behind compared to platforms like Spotify and TikTok that already have features the introduction of the sleep timer is a step for Premium users. This feature is currently accessible until September 2 and hopefully YouTube will decide to keep it and maybe even offer it to free users, in the future.
