A new update is, in the works to remove this requirement giving users peace of mind in situations. With this feature users can choose whether they want the offline Find My Device option enabled or disabled giving them control over their privacy and security settings.
Although this feature is initially aimed at Pixel Watch users it’s likely to expand to Wear OS devices down the line.
