Keller highlighted that while the community is excited, about the return to 6v6 matches in Overwatch 2 the transition back to this team size poses challenges. The team needs to consider how the games technical performance might be affected by the upgrades and additions it has undergone, especially when accommodating 12 players in a match.

There are also concerns about queue time impacts, which influenced the switch to 5v5. The Overwatch 2 team will closely monitor data from the 6v6 tests, such, as queue times, game performance and player feedback. Based on these findings and careful deliberation they will decide whether to stick with 5v5 go to 6v6 or provide both options in the games future.
