Fans who have been eagerly anticipating the launch of the city building simulation game Cities Skylines 2, on consoles will need to exercise a bit patience. According to an update shared on the community forum the development team has announced a delay in the scheduled October 2024 release timeframe for the console version.
The main reason cited for this delay is that the game has not yet reached the development teams standards for “stability and performance.” The developers have acknowledged the existence of issues that could potentially hinder the player experience. In order to ensure an enjoyable gaming experience, at launch they have made the decision to postpone the release of the console version.
New Release Window Remains Uncertain
The team did not specify a release date yet. They reassured fans that an update will be coming soon. They plan to receive a new ‘Release Candidate’ build in August for testing and review. Based on the results of this evaluation they will decide on announcing a release date. If there will be further delays.
