Obsidian’s Avowed Delayed to 2025 Amid Game Pass Shuffle

Avowed, Obsidian's upcoming RPG, faces delay into early 2025.

According to a report that has been verified Obsidian Entertainments anticipated RPG Avowed might see a delay until early 2025. This unexpected development has caught fans off guard after the accidental leak of the games intended launch date, by the developer.

The decision to postpone the release of Avowed is not attributed to any issues with the games status as sources indicate that it is “in shape.” Instead Microsoft and Obsidian have strategically opted for this delay to better manage the holiday release schedule for Xbox Game Pass. With STALKER 2 already delayed to November and other major titles like Call of Duty; Black Ops 6 Frostpunk 2 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in the lineup Microsoft aims to stagger its Game Pass releases to allow each game its time, in the spotlight.

If theres no update soon chances are we’ll hear about it during Gamescom 2024 in a couple of weeks. Xbox has already confirmed their presence at the event. Hinted at showcasing Avowed among games.

While its disappointing for Xbox and PC gamers to experience Avowed through Game Pass the delay doesn’t seem significant. The reassurance that the game is making progress should provide some comfort to fans. As we approach the year players can hold onto hope that they’ll soon embark on an adventure through the captivating Living Lands of Eora, in Obsidians anticipated RPG.
