Rumors of a new online Sonic the Hedgehog experience have swirled online over the past few months. According to reliable industry sources, the game is targeting a June/July release for mobile platforms, with a potential future on other systems. Originally known as “Sonic Toys Party,” it now appears to go by the name “Sonic Rumble.”
Players can expect fast-paced competitive multiplayer across iconic Sonic stages filled with Rings, Badniks and loops. Up to 32 players will compete simultaneously as their favorite characters like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Dr. Robotnik. Customization options will let each player personalize their character look. Leaked gameplay also featured Sonic sporting new costumes and accessories.
Collaborations With Familiar Faces

Sources hint at collaborations with other major gaming IPs. The Sonic universe may intersect with the acclaimed Persona series, but collaborations are also planned with multiple other franchises under Sega’s banner. Cameos or stages from revered series like Jet Set Radio, Skies of Arcadia or Samba de Amigo could make appearances. Upcoming projects like the Golden Axe animated series may also factor in.
With proof of development mounting, an official announcement seems near for Sonic the Hedgehog. If the reported June/July target holds, mobile players will soon be able to experience the speed of Sonic in an all-new competitive multiplayer format. As more leaks emerge, excitement is building for what this game has in store for longtime fans and new players alike of the iconic blue hedgehog. Stay tuned for future updates!
