Sony has delivered a blow to the LittleBigPlanet 3 community by announcing that the online servers and services, for the creation game will no longer be available. The servers were temporarily shut down in January due to issues. Sony has now confirmed that access will not be restored.
With the servers offline, than 10 million user created levels made since the games launch in 2014 are now out of reach. LittleBigPlanet 3 was known for its level and outfit creation tools that allowed players to share their creations with others worldwide. The ability to explore, download and enjoy this collection of player content was a factor, in the games lasting popularity.
A Monumental Loss for the LittleBigPlanet Legacy

The closure of the server hits hard when you think about how significant LittleBigPlanet 3’s as the part of the popular series. It used to offer players the chance to enjoy levels, from the games, LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2 along with its engaging single player story mode.
With Sony shutting down the servers for all three games on PS3 in 2021 there’s now no way to immerse yourself in the creations and decade long community legacy of LittleBigPlanet. While you can still play LittleBigPlanet 3 offline, the essence of what made it a cherished community experience is now gone. Fans have shared their sadness and frustration, on media after being disconnected from collaborating and sharing their creations with others. Only time will reveal whether Sony will reconsider this shutdown.
