Google has recently introduced a feature in its Google Password Manager allowing users to easily share passwords with their family members. The anticipated password sharing option is now included in the May 2024 update of Google Play Services (v24.20).
With this update users can securely share their passwords with members of their family group directly through the Google Password Manager. Once a password is shared family members will have access, to a copy of it in their Google Password Manager, for use. This feature aims to streamline the management of shared accounts and login details.

Google has showcased an instances where the password sharing function, in Google Password Manager can come in handy. For example it can simplify managing childcare using an account. Enable a child to give their parents access to school tasks. Moreover this feature proves useful for sharing credentials for streaming services, insurance details, VPNs and other services.
Although the password sharing feature is currently accessible on smartphones it seems to be absent from the version of Chrome on desktops, for now. As Google Password Manager undergoes development and enhancement users can anticipate features and upgrades that emphasize security and ease of managing online passwords.
