Google Launches Gemini AI App in India with 9 Local Languages

Google has launched its Gemini AI mobile app in India, offering support for 9 local Indian languages.

Google has finally released its anticipated Gemini AI app, in India over four months since its debut in the United States. The app is designed to offer users an AI assistant experience and now includes support for nine languages, alongside English to cater to the diverse population of the country.

In India the Gemini app now allows users to interact with the AI assistant in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. This update enables users to engage with the assistant in their language through typing or voice commands for assistance. Googles decision to incorporate language support reflects its dedication, to meeting the demands of the market.

Expanding Gemini’s Reach

The app comes with Gemini 1.0 Pro as its default setting. Users can opt for a paid version to enjoy a Gemini experience. The upgraded edition, known as Gemini 1.5 Pro offers a context window of 1 million tokens enabling it to handle tasks such, as processing documents and conducting complex data analyses efficiently. Moreover this advanced version supports the nine languages available in the basic app.

Apart from its launch in India Google has quietly introduced the Gemini app in Turkey, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Android users in these regions can now download the app from the Play Store while iPhone users in India will soon have access to Gemini via the Google app. Additionally Google intends to integrate Gemini into apps like Gmail, Google Messages and YouTube, in the future to enhance user experience across its ecosystem.
