Destiny 2’s highly anticipated Brave Arsenal addition is set to drop with the Into The Light update, but fans have concerns about how it may play out. Bungie is hoping Into The Light will breathe new life into Destiny 2 after a rough year, and the return of classic weapons through the Brave Arsenal is a big part of that goal. However, the rollout plan may end up doing more harm than good.
The first batch of Brave Arsenal weapons will be available on April 9th when Into The Light launches. This includes popular options like The Recluse and Falling Guillotine. But some of the most sought after guns won’t arrive until later. Fan favorites like Blast Furnace, Hammerhead, and the legendary Luna’s Howl may not show up until May.
Time is Not on Their Side
With each Brave Arsenal weapon only having a limited-edition version available until June 3rd, that leaves a very narrow window for players to get the rolls they want. For those guns dropping in May, people will have under a month to grind for the “shiny” versions before they disappear forever. This limited timeframe risks creating frustration in the Destiny 2 community rather than excitement.
Bungie will hope the drip-fed releases keep people engaged with Destiny 2 over the coming months. But for hardcore and collectors, the short windows may breed a sense of FOMO rather than fun. There’s also a risk people burn out from the non-stop grind needed if they want to complete their collections.
While the Brave Arsenal’s return is fantastic for Destiny 2, the rollout plan leaves much to be desired. Bungie should consider extending the availability of the limited items or front-loading more popular choices to avoid player dissatisfaction. The last thing they need is for one of the biggest new additions of the year to become a source of frustration rather than fulfillment.
