Supergiant Games, the creators of the game Hades recently gave a sneak peek of their sequel, Hades 2 to a limited group of fans, for early access on Steam. In addition to this look the studio treated fans to a three hour livestream showcasing gameplay details and insights for the first time.
In Hades 2 players will step into the shoes of Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld as they navigate through a revamped Underworld with discoveries and challenging foes. Melinoë introduces her style of play that leans more towards magic and stealth compared to Zagreus’ original focus on close combat. Players can expect encounters with both gods like Zeus and Poseidon well as new characters, like the enchanting witch Hecate.
A Fresh Perspective on the Underworld
Hades 2 builds upon the established lore and world of the game ensuring that new players can easily dive into the experience. Supergiant plans to release the game in Early Access on both Steam and the Epic Games Store in the quarter of 2024 allowing fans ample time to speculate before immersing themselves in Melinoës adventure. The ongoing technical test provides a glimpse, into the Roguelike gameplay and captivating narrative that garnered praise for Hades.
In a livestream Supergiant Games disclosed that Hades 2 will unfold decades after the events of its predecessor. Players will explore the underworld through a lens as Melinoë, whose skill set emphasizes magic, stealth and trickery rather than Zagreus direct combat prowess. This shift injects life into the Hades formula while preserving its signature fast paced Roguelike action.
