French indie studio Evil Empire, known for their work on Dead Cells, is looking for alpha testers for their new project The Rogue Prince of Persia. Announced earlier this week, The Rogue Prince of Persia is a 2D action-platforming rogue-lite inspired by the Prince of Persia franchise that will launch in Steam Early Access on May 14th. Before then, Evil Empire is inviting players to get hands-on experience with The Rogue Prince of Persia through an open alpha test.
In The Rogue Prince of Persia, players will control the Prince as he navigates procedurally generated levels inspired by Persian architecture. Players will need to utilize the Prince’s iconic wall run and platforming skills to safely make their way through colorful biomes full of traps and enemies. On top of environmental hazards, the Prince will also need to battle Huns and creatures corrupted by dark magic using an array of melee and ranged weapons.
What to Expect in the Alpha
The upcoming alpha testing phase, for The Rogue Prince of Persia will allow players to experience the combat and platforming features the game has to offer. During this phase participants will have the opportunity to explore generated levels inspired by settings such as aqueducts, gardens and academies while guiding the Prince through challenges. Players will have hands on experience with both combat and platforming elements utilizing a range of weapons and abilities including wall runs.
Evil Empire welcomes all players to register for the alpha testing on their website to contribute towards refining and enhancing the game before its access launch. Participants in the alpha testing phase will not gain access to The Rogue Prince of Persia but also provide valuable feedback that will shape the final version of the game. By joining this phase players are actively influencing The Rogue Prince of Persias development into a notch rogue lite adventure inspired by the Prince of Persia series when it becomes available, on Steam in May.
