Activision, the known gaming company, for the popular Call of Duty series has taken a strong stand against cheaters following a significant increase in cheating incidents affecting Call of Duty; Modern Warfare 3 and its free to play battle royale mode, Warzone. The rise in cheating occurred after the games launch on Microsofts Game Pass as individuals exploited a loophole to hide their platform and avoid detection.
In response to the cheating problem Activision acknowledged issues with its RICOCHET AntiCheat system and promised to address the issue directly. The company highlighted its capability to identify a players platform regardless of their claimed platform. Activision reiterated its dedication to ensuring an enjoyable gaming environment, for all players.
Activision’s Swift Action Against Cheaters
After dealing with the cheating issue Activision made an announcement that they have cleaned up the leaderboards, for Call of Duty ranked play and banned a whopping 65,000 accounts involved in cheating and boosting. The RICOCHET Anti Cheat team ramped up its efforts to crack down on cheaters in both Ranked Play and non Ranked modes in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.
Activisions swift action sends a message to the gaming community that cheating will not be accepted. The company has committed to monitor and take action against anyone found cheating or boosting in any game mode. With the launch of Black Ops 6, on Game Pass Activision is focusing on strengthening its cheat system to prevent any similar incidents during the release.
