The zombie survival crafting game called 7 Days To Die has been, on quite a journey since its release in 2013 on Steams Early Access platform. After development and feedback from the community for a decade the creators have announced that the upcoming version 1.0 set to launch in June will officially take the game out of early access. This signifies a milestone for one of Steams access pioneers.
On the side there is some news for players on consoles who enjoy the game. Due to issues with the studio for porting the game to consoles going under the current console editions of 7 Days To Die will be removed from sale. Will no longer receive updates or support moving forward. This decision leaves console players who have invested time in the game without access, to content unless they opt to repurchase it.
A Tough Choice for Loyal Console Fans
Fans of 7 Days To Die who play on consoles are now facing a choice; stick with their version without any future updates or purchase the game again for newer consoles to enjoy upcoming content and features. Even though there will be a discount, for existing owners this decision might not sit well with players who initially bought the game with the expectation of support.
The imminent 1.0 release of 7 Days To Die on PC seems promising after years of development. However removing console versions, from sale forces dedicated fans on those platforms to decide between staying with what they have or investing in the version to keep up with the evolving post launch experience of this popular zombie survival game.
