A recent report from mobilegamer.biz highlighted the challenges studios are facing, including payments and inadequate technical assistance, which are making it hard for them to create and sustain games on the platform.
One major issue troubling developers is the wait for payments from Apple Arcade. Some studios have mentioned waiting for, as six months to receive their earnings leading one developer to almost shut down. This financial pressure is worsened by the lack of email responses and insufficient technical support.
Vision Pro Development Woes
The debut of the Vision Pro headset has posed challenges, for Apple Arcade developers. Many have expressed dissatisfaction with the assistance provided for the device labeling it as unsatisfactory and unhelpful. Developers have encountered difficulties in optimizing their games for the Vision Pro noting its gaming performance constraints despite its power and premium price.
Additionally developers have highlighted the differences between Apple Arcade and its rivals like Meta in terms of incentives and promotional backing. While Meta extends incentives and assurances to developers creating content for its platforms Apple has reportedly approached developers to design games for the Vision Pro without offering any rewards or promotional guarantees. Consequently some developers believe that their games are struggling on the platform with visibility or support, from Apple.
