Starry Studio, the team, behind the survival game Once Human is actively working to address issues reported by players. They have laid out a plan to tackle problems like lag spikes, PC crashes and other performance related issues. Despite Once Humans rapid climb up the Steam success charts the game has faced some challenges. However the developers are dedicated to ensuring an enjoyable gaming experience, for all players.
One of the areas Starry Studio is concentrating on is addressing lag spikes that have affected some players. The team is currently investigating the issue. Plans to implement optimizations to address the problem of lagging. In the meantime developers suggest installing Once Human on a solid state drive (SSD) as a way to reduce loading times significantly and alleviate any lag related issues.
Once Human Developer Addresses High Memory Usage and CPU Crashes

Besides dealing with lag spikes Starry Studio is also focusing on optimizing the game to reduce high memory usage. These enhancements are set to be rolled out in the week to ease the strain, on the CPU. Additionally the developers have pinpointed an issue that causes Once Human to crash during shader compilation at startup on Intel 13th and 14th generation CPUs. To address this problem temporarily Starry Studio suggests that affected players update their BIOS or utilize the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility by lowering the ‘Performance Core Ratio’ to 54x.
Looking forward Starry Studio has a plan laid out for Human. The team aims to introduce support for rebindings controllers on PC well as DLSS and FSR upscaling throughout August.
