Over two decades have passed since gamers first got to experience being a hero of the Star Wars universe through the classic first person shooter Dark Forces. Developed by LucasArts in 1995, Dark Forces let players control mercenary Kyle Katarn as he went up against the Galactic Empire. Now, Lucasfilm Games and developer Nightdive Studios are giving Dark Forces a new lease of life with an enhanced Dark Forces Remaster.
The Dark Forces Remaster updates the original with high resolution graphics, improved lighting and textures, additional content and more. While staying true to the gameplay and story of the original, it brings Dark Forces to modern platforms with features like a weapon wheel and controller support. Players can once again experience Kyle Katarn’s adventure or discover it for the first time with this remastered version.
New Playable Level and Behind The Scenes Content
As part of the Dark Forces Remaster, Nightdive Studios has included a previously cut level that sees Kyle Katarn board an Imperial Star Destroyer known as the Avenger. Additional behind the scenes videos and assets from the game’s development are also accessible, providing new insight for long time fans.
With its updated presentation and additions, the Dark Forces Remaster aims to introduce a new generation of players to this pioneering Star Wars shooter while delighting veterans with a blast from the past. Kyle Katarn is once again ready to take the fight to the Empire across Windows PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms worldwide.
