Bethesdas anticipated sci fi game Starfield is gearing up for expansions, in the years ahead. In a chat with YouTuber MrMattyPlays, Todd Howard, Bethesdas producer, shared insights into the studios future plans for expanding Starfield. Howard mentioned that they are currently developing another expansion after the Shattered Space DLC.
When questioned about how Bethesda approaches launch updates Howard mentioned their goal of releasing yearly story expansions for Starfield. He expressed optimism about providing support, for the game over a period showcasing their dedication to enriching the game world. Although Howard didn’t go into detail he reassured fans that work on the Starfield expansion is already underway.
Expanding the Starfield Universe
Howard made it clear that the purpose of these Starfield expansions is not, about addressing every query posed in the game. Instead the teams focus lies in introducing experiences, moods and perspectives to the existing universe. This strategy enables Bethesda to delve into aspects of the Starfield world while ensuring that the game remains captivating and exciting for players.
During the Xbox showcase Bethesda unveiled The Shattered Space expansion offering a sneak peek into their post launch content direction. The space horror themed teaser showcased House Va’ruun hinting at a narrative. Given that development on Shattered Space commenced after Starfields release in September players can anticipate a flow of expansions, in the future each contributing unique elements to enrich the games storyline.
