Arrowheads CEO, Shams Jorjani has voiced his concern, about the feedback regarding the Escalation of Freedom update, for Helldivers 2. Players have expressed discontent with the update, which brought in adversaries, missions and difficulty settings as they believe it has heightened the games level of challenge and disrupted its balance.
Jorjani acknowledged the players’ concerns, stating, “I think more broadly it also has us discussing the path ahead and what we can do to avoid this situation again.” He added, “I think a lot of you, fairly point out ‘WTF. We went through this earlier this year. Why are we here again?'” The CEO emphasized that the development team is working to address the issues raised by the community.
Balancing Issues and Upcoming Fixes
Players have been expressing their frustration, about the time it takes to eliminate enemies, in Helldivers 2. Jorjani acknowledged that the time to kill is indeed too long and mentioned that creative director Johan Pilestedt feels the way. The CEO clarified that the solution is not just a matter of buffing weapons, stating, “A philosophy for the game is that the right tool for the job gets it done fast, but not all tools fix all problems.”
Arrowhead is currently making adjustments, to the difficulty setting. Has upcoming plans for overall improvements in the near future. Jorjani reassured players that the team values feedback and is dedicated to implementing the required updates to enhance the Helldivers 2 gameplay. Despite facing some obstacles the CEO remains hopeful that the game will be back, on course shortly.
