There was an incident where Final Fantasy 16 made a brief appearance on Sonys PlayStation Plus subscription yesterday before being taken down shortly after being noticed by users on social media platforms who shared the news of its presence in the PS Plus game collection store listing online. These events have sparked discussions and anticipation among fans who are now speculating about an official release of Final Fantasy 16 on the subscription service, in the near future.
The PS Plus images were shared by users Wario64 and NextGenPlayer on the US store listing. Have since been taken down from the UK store listing this morning hinting at a possible error in the initial display of information regarding Final Fantasy 16 by Square Enix who has been reached out to for further details, on the matter.
A Promising Future for Final Fantasy 16 on Multiple Platforms
The possible addition of Final Fantasy 16 to PS Plus could come after the games launch in June 2023. Would be a notable enhancement to the subscription service offering on the platform. This decision would match Square Enixs approach of introducing various Final Fantasy games like Crisis Core. Final Fantasy VII. Reunion and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, to PS Plus users.
In addition to that news update about Final Fantasy 16s PC launch on September 17th and the availability of a demo already out there was quite interesting! It’s cool to see the game branching out beyond being for PSX previously and showing Square Enixs shift towards making it available, on multiple platforms now. Naoki Yoshida from Square Enix has mentioned plans to further connect with Xbox players following the reception of Final Fantasy 14s launch on the platform earlier this year; this move may open doors for other Square Enix titles, like Final Fantasy 16 to also come to Xbox in the future.
