CIG Says Squadron 42 is Feature Complete

"Squadron 42" now feature-complete, says developer.

After an highly anticipated wait Squadron 42 the single player campaign of Star Citizen has reached a significant milestone. The developer, behind the project Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) has officially announced that Squadron 42 is now considered “feature ” This announcement comes after delays and rescheduling since the games announcement.

Originally scheduled for release in 2014 Squadron 42 faced multiple postponements. The beta version was initially planned to launch in mid 2020. Encountered a three month delay. That year Chris Roberts, the director of CIG acknowledged that the game was still far from entering its beta phase.

The recent update on Squadron 42 was unveiled during this years CitizenCon event. Alongside the announcement came a development video that showcased the progress made far. Currently Squadron 42 is in its ” phase,” where CIG is focused on enhancing players gaming experience and ensuring it’s enjoyable.

The team is diligently working on refining aspects such as AI implementation, narrative elements and cinematic sequences. Despite progress being made CIG has not provided a release window, for the game.

Chris Roberts made a statement to fans assuring them that they will be the first to know when the release date is confirmed. He also mentioned that the polishing phase might take some time. Additionally players can look forward to updates and features being added to Star Citizen well as advancements, in the games persistence.

This year CIG revealed their five year plan, which includes potential sequels for Squadron 42 and expanding Star Citizen into a comprehensive MMORPG. Carl Jones, who was the operating officer at that time hinted that Squadron 42 might still require “one or two more years” before its release.

Squadron 42 is not a game; it’s a captivating campaign driven by an engaging storyline and features a stellar cast. Esteemed Hollywood celebrities such as Gary Oldman, Mark Hamill, Gillian Anderson, John Rhys Davies and Andy Serkis have lent their talents to this project.

Although Squadron 42 has faced challenges throughout its journey far the recent announcement has brought hope and excitement to the gaming community. The completion of features marks a step forward in its development progress and fans from, around the world eagerly await its official release.
