Obsidian games Pentiment and Grounded will launch on the Nintendo Switch in 2023 after initially releasing on Xbox and PC platforms.In a surprise announcement, Nintendo revealed that two standout Xbox titles, the mystery solving Pentiment and the bug-sized survival adventure Grounded, would be venturing onto the Switch.
Both games were original developed and launched first on Xbox and Windows PC via the Xbox Game Studios publisher. Pentiment charmed audiences and critics alike with its unique narrative and art style set in 16th century Germany. Grounded also impressed with its creative premise of being shrunk down to insect size and having to survive in a backyard.
Making the Switch
Now Nintendo fans will have the chance to experience these acclaimed Pentiment and Grounded for themselves. Pentiment will be available on the eShop tomorrow, letting players dive into its mystery right away. Grounded has a later release date of April 16th to give developers Obisidian more time to optimize it for the Switch’s portable format.
It’s great to see Microsoft embracing other consoles like the Switch. Their commitment to releasing select titles on additional platforms shows gamers don’t need to choose between Xbox or Nintendo to enjoy certain games.
