Dead by Daylight is playing a massive prank on players for the start of April Fools’ Day. From April 1st to the 3rd, the asymmetrical horror game will launch a special limited-time event called “My Little Oni” that grows one of its Killers to gargantuan size while shrinking the Survivors down to Lilliputian levels.
The event swaps out the standard Trial rules by making the Oni Killer into an absolutely enormous presence that towers over the map. Survivors will find themselves much smaller in stature, only coming up to the Oni’s ankles. Generators can still be repaired, but other interactions will prove challenging against a Killer that seems more like a Kaiju than a human.
A Frightening Size Difference
The size differential between the Oni and Survivors presents new obstacles. Items and chests become out of reach for the tiny Survivors. Vaulting windows and dropping pallets won’t do much good against the colossal Killer either. Death can only be avoided by avoiding the Oni’s notice or miraculously finishing all the generators in time – which may be difficult considering the Survivors’ now-diminished reach and scale.
For those brave enough to log on, “My Little Oni” offers a complete transformation of the usual Dead by Daylight gameplay. Survival will rely more on stealth and teamwork against an absolutely massive threat. The event only runs from April 1st to the 3rd, so players have a limited window to experience this outrageous April Fools’ twist on the asymmetrical slasher format.
