Microsoft has declared that OpenAI’s state-of-the-art GPT-4 Turbo with Vision language model is generally accessible for all users of its Azure OpenAI Service. This powerful AI can understand text and images together.
The tech giant first debuted a public preview of the model in December, inviting select customers to experiment with its capabilities. It has now opened access to any organization using its AI infrastructure service. The Azure OpenAI Service allows for deploying and managing advanced AI assistants and applications.
What Customers Are Already Achieving
In a blog post, Microsoft detailed that the model, named “gpt-4-turbo-2024-04-09”, can be employed within the Sweden Central and East US 2 regions through the platform. Some early preview functions like optical character recognition are not yet included but under development for future updates.
The software company noted that early adopters have already applied the Azure OpenAI Service and GPT-4 Turbo model in novel ways. Retailers are improving online shopping with more personalized recommendations. Media firms are gaining insights from visual content. And many organizations are streamlining processes and deriving value from text and image analysis.
