Age of Mythology: Retold
One of the biggest surprises at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 was the gameplay trailer for Age of Mythology: Retold. Worlds Edge has crafted a version of the RTS game set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam and cloud platforms, on September 4 2024. It will also be accessible from day one, through Game Pass.
Avowed Story
Obsidian Entertainment gave us a new look at the story of their upcoming RPG Avowed during the Xbox Games Showcase 2024. Gamers will set off on a journey, through the Living Lands to thwart the Dreamscourge and influence the destiny of the border region. Avowed is set to release on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam and cloud platforms in 2024 with Game Pass access, from day one.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
The Xbox Games Showcase 2024 brought the official reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the latest entry in the blockbuster FPS franchise. Taking place in the 1990s Black Ops 6 is a spy story filled with new features such, as Omnimovement in its campaign, multiplayer and Zombies gameplay. Call of Duty; Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25 for platforms including Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC, Steam, Battle.net, PS5 and PS4. It will also be accessible on Game Pass, from day one.
Doom: The Dark Ages
id Software made a surprise appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 to announce Doom: The Dark Ages, a prequel to Doom (2016) set in a dark fantasy world. The legendary Doom Slayer is back to fight against forces using weapons and his formidable Atlan mech suit. Doom; The Dark Ages is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam and PS5 in 2025. Will be available, on Game Pass, from day one.
Fable Dev Diary Series Continues at Xbox Games Showcase 2024
Playground Games debuted a new installment in their Fable dev diary series at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, asking “What does it mean to be a hero?” We met Humphry, a retired hero forced back into action when a figure from his past threatens Albion. Playground also announced they are collaborating with Eidos Montreal on Fable, which is targeting a 2025 release.
Gears of War: E-Day Revealed at Xbox Games Showcase 2024
The Coalition ended the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 with a bang, revealing Gears of War: E-Day, the next mainline entry in the Gears franchise. 14 years prior, to the events of Gears of War, at the beginning of Emergence Day Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago battle to protect humanity from the Locust Horde. The announcement trailer was made in Unreal Engine 5 utilizing assets from the game.
