Google Maps, the used navigation application has recently rolled out a anticipated update, for iOS and CarPlay users. The latest feature includes a speedometer and speed limit indicators allowing drivers to track their speed while using Google Maps for navigation<\/a>. While this functionality has been available on Android since 2019 and on Waze since 2016 iPhone users can now enjoy the benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To activate the speedometer and speed limit features users simply need to tap on their picture in Google Maps and navigate to Settings > Navigation. Within the Map display section they will find toggles to enable the speedometer and speed limit indicators. Once activated the speedometer will be displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen showing real time speed<\/a> data. Should a driver exceed the designated speed limit, the color of the speedometer changes, as a cue to encourage them to reduce their speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
