GSC Game World recently announced that the anticipated release of Stalker 2; Heart Of Chornobyl has been pushed back, to November 20 2024. Originally set for a September 5 debut on PC and Xbox Series X|S the game will now need a two months of development time.
In a statement game director Yevhen Grygorovych explained the delay. Thanked fans for their patience. The additional time will be used to address issues commonly referred to as “bugs ” to ensure an more stable gaming experience at launch. Grygorovych also expressed appreciation for the communitys continued support and excitement, for the reveal of Stalker 2; Heart Of Chornobyl.
Developer Diary and New Footage
Despite the delay GSC Game World has some plans, in store for fans. On August 12 the studio is set to unveil a developer diary video that delves into the games development journey. This video will offer a sneak peek at never before seen content interviews with the team members and a behind the scenes glimpse into the making of Stalker 2; Heart Of Chornobyl. Fans can also look forward to footage showcasing an overview of the world different locations and a walkthrough of one of the story quests.
The postponement of Stalker 2; Heart Of Chornobyl shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the obstacles faced by the studio in recent times. The Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 led GSC Game World to relocate its operations to Prague, Czech Republic. Sadly Volodymyr Yezhov, a member of their development team lost his life while bravely defending Ukraine. Moreover the studios offices in Prague were damaged by a fire, towards the end of 2023; thankfully no casualties were reported from this incident.
