Rogue Prince of Persia Delayed to Avoid Clash with Hades 2

The upcoming roguelite game The Rogue Prince of Persia will not be meeting its previously planned release date of May 14th.

The upcoming roguelite game The Rogue Prince of Persia will not be meeting its previously planned release date of May 14th. In a tweet, the development studio Evil Empire announced that they have made the decision to push back the launch of their upcoming title to avoid clashing with another popular dungeon crawling game Hades 2.

Hades 2 recently launched in Early Access on Steam last week on May 6th and has seen tremendous success with over 60k concurrent players on its first day, effectively doubling the player count of its predecessor. Not wanting to compete for attention against such an anticipated game in the same genre, Evil Empire stated “Seeing as everyone and their mum is playing Hades 2, we have decided to let people have their fun with it before we release The Rogue Prince of Persia.”

A Short Delay

Rogue Prince of Persia Delayed to Avoid Clash with Hades 2

While The Rogue Prince of Persia is being delayed, Evil Empire assured fans it will only be a short postponement and the game will still launch sometime in May. They said some additional time will be used to squash remaining bugs and implement further refinements. Recognizing the frustration of fans eagerly awaiting their game, the developers apologized for the delay but believe it is the best decision for their title and community.

Evil Empire remains confident in The Rogue Prince of Persia and its ability to captivate players but did not want to risk being overshadowed by the behemoth that is Hades 2‘s highly anticipated Early Access launch. Fans will have to wait just a bit longer to get their hands on the Rogue Prince of Persia but the developer promises it will be worth the wait.
