Rogue Company, the free to play multiplayer shooter has made a decision to remove all elements related to streamer Dr Disrespect from the game. This action follows accusations, against Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm regarding communication with a minor on Twitch.
The games developer, First Watch Game and publisher Hi Rez Studios acted swiftly by updating Rogue Company to eliminate the premium Dr Disrespect bundle priced at $40 the Dr Disrespect skin and the dedicated Arena map for Beahm. The map will no longer be accessible in any private playlists. The studio confirmed that they have disabled all Dr. Disrespect content that was previously available, in the game and assured players that they would receive refunds in Rogue Bucks if their accounts were impacted this week.
Community Reaction and Refund Concerns
Many gamers support the decision to remove the Rogue Company content linked to Dr Disrespect. Some are unhappy, with the studios choice to provide refunds in the form of in game currency than a full cash refund. They believe they should get their money back entirely of receiving credits for Rogue Bucks.
The accusations, against Dr Disrespect surfaced after Cody Conners, Twitchs account director of partnerships disclosed that an unnamed individual had been banned from the platform for sending inappropriate messages to a minor. Subsequent reports confirmed that this individual was indeed Beahm. A former Twitch employee, who preferred to remain anonymous also revealed that despite being informed of the minors age Beahm allegedly continued sending ” messages.
