Remedy Entertainment, the game development studio known for the anticipated Alan Wake 2 has recently shared its financial performance for the second quarter of 2024. Despite a 16.2% increase, in revenue compared to the year totaling €10.3 million the company disclosed that royalties from Alan Wake 2 have not been realized yet.
CEO Tero Virtala mentioned that even though Alan Wake 2 has sold 1.3 million copies worldwide by February 2024 it has not translated into revenue for Remedy Entertainment far. The game was funded entirely by Epic Games. According to the arrangement Remedy will receive a share of revenue once Epic Games recoups their investment in full. In March Virtala remained positive, about the games success potential. Noted that it had already recovered a portion of Epic Games Publishings initial investment.
