Remedy CEO Tero Virtala announced that Project Kestrel, which was initially co funded by Tencent and, in its stages of development will not be moving forward. Despite its potential the company decided to redirect the Kestrel team to support projects that have made progress. This strategic reallocation of resources aims to optimize Remedys output.

Virtala expressed that while Project Kestrel held promise it was still in its infancy. By shifting focus to existing projects Remedy can leverage the skills of the Kestrel team on game developments. Enhance operational efficiency across various functions.

The developers from Project Kestrel will transition to working on projects within Remedy without facing job cuts. This decision was taken to ensure a continuation of their project portfolio.
