Project 007: IO Interactive’s Modern Take on Bond

Project 007 by IO Interactive leans towards a modern Bond vibe.

Project 007 the anticipated Bond game developed by IO Interactive is shaping up to offer a perspective, on the beloved spy series. In an interview with IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abran in Edge magazine it was revealed that the game will lean more towards the Bond movies, particularly those featuring Daniel Craig rather than the classic Roger Moore era.

While specific details about Project 007 are still kept under wraps Abrans insights suggest that players can expect a narrative experience compared to the open ended adventures of the Hitman series. The CEO described it as “the spycraft fantasy ” indicating that players may have opportunities to delve deeper into the world of espionage gadgets while potentially reducing emphasis on assassination missions.

The excitement surrounding Project 007 began with a captivating CGI trailer reveal in November 2020. Following this announcement IO Interactive posted job listings on their website to attract talent for the games development. This demonstrated their dedication to delivering a gaming experience.

However fans may need to manage their expectations for now. A financial report from IO Interactive in the year suggested potential revenue declines, for fiscal periods. There have been speculations that Project 007 might not be available, for purchase until sometime after March 2025.

Interestingly the Bond franchise has recently seen game releases. This year gamers were treated to the re release of the N64 game GoldenEye 007 which was made available for Xbox and Switch. In addition Apple Arcade introduced a game called Cypher 007 in September.

Project 007 aims to bring an exciting addition, to the lineage of Bond games. It takes inspiration from the portrayals of the spy seen in recent films. With IO Interactive leading the development fans can anticipate an exhilarating gaming experience.
