NetherRealm Studios newest fighting game, Mortal Kombat 1 is set to captivate fans with a stream of updates as shared by series co creator Ed Boon, at San Diego Comic Con. Boon highlighted the studios plans for the game underlining that the unveiled second year of content marks just the start.
Boon expressed NetherRealms confidence, from the beginning that Mortal Kombat 1 would see “years of updates” post launch. He referenced the installment, Mortal Kombat 11 which received expansions and new characters over time. This ongoing support approach has become a hallmark of the studios games in times.
A Kombat-Filled Future
The upcoming year, for Mortal Kombat 1 is gearing up with the introduction of the Khaos Reigns expansion a Kombat Pack showcasing six new fighters and the exciting comeback of Animalities as a complimentary update. From Boons remarks it seems like NetherRealm has planned for players beyond these new additions.
These announcements reflect Warner Bros.’ recent shift towards investing in service games departing from the one time console game approach.
