Samsung is changing its strategy by deciding that the Galaxy S25 series will only use Qualcomms Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset this time around just like they did with the Galaxy S23 lineup before where they also stuck with Snapdragon processors worldwide because of their strong AI features.
Amid reports about Samsungs future flagship devices new information has surfaced recently about the tech giants strategies and plans in this space. Initial rumors hinted at Samsung working on a chip tailored for its Galaxy flagships; however it appears that this project has been put on hold for the time being. Additionally there have been whispers, about Samsung exploring the possibility of incorporating a 3nm Exynos chip or contemplating MediaTek processors for the Galaxy S25 series.
Foldables May Embrace Exynos
The upcoming Galaxy S25 series is expected to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chips; however Samsung might opt for a different strategy for its foldable devices. There are reports suggesting that the new line of Galaxy Z foldables scheduled for launch in late 2025 may be equipped with the Exynos 2500 chipset. This would represent a shift, from past Galaxy foldable models that have consistently employed Qualcomm processors.
The upcoming release of the Galaxy S25 series is anticipated for January after the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset was revealed in October officially by Samsungs efforts in enhancing its chipset approach may raise questions, on how the company will blend the utilization of Snapdragon and Exynos processors in its different device ranges moving forward.
