EA is aiming to steer their beloved battle royale game Apex Legends towards paths, in the future. In a discussion with investors CEO Andrew Wilson shared a vision to broaden the Apex Legends universe beyond its conventional battle royale origins over the next five years. With a player retention rate of over 75% after half a decade it’s evident that Apex Legends has struck a chord with gamers and emerged as one of EAs successful new intellectual properties.
Wilson emphasized the objective of enhancing the newcomer experience and accessibility of Apex Legends. The recent adjustments made in Season 20 have already started to accomplish this goal. However he hinted at plans to enhance the game by introducing ” play styles” and expanding its scope beyond just a battle royale format. This paves the way, for prospects involving gameplay modes and narrative exploration.
Expanding the Experience
The next step involves expanding the influence of Apex Legends and expanding into markets particularly in Europe and Asia where there is still significant growth potential. EA believes that by adapting the Apex Legends experience and marketing strategies to preferences they can significantly increase player acquisition, engagement and monetization on a scale. Wilson is optimistic that this multi faceted approach will help sustain Apex Legends for another five to ten years.
With its foundation and loyal fan base Apex Legends is poised for greater success. EAs ambitious goal is to attract players while providing long time fans with new experiences, within the Apex Legends universe. If their implementation proves effective as the game itself Apex Legends could potentially redefine the battle royale genre.
