ASRock Unveils Radeon RX 6500XT with 8GB VRAM Upgrade

ASRock introduces the Radeon RX 6500XT Phantom Gaming with 8GB memory.

ASRock has recently revealed the release of its Radeon RX 6500XT Phantom Gaming graphics card boasting a 8GB of VRAM. This upgrade, from the 4GB model offers users a boost in memory capacity for performance, in gaming and graphic intensive activities.

With the increased VRAM the Radeon RX 6500XT Phantom Gaming maintains its 128 bit memory bus. Utilizes 18 Gbps memory chips resulting in a maximum bandwidth of 144 GB/s. Although the Navi 24 GPU that powers the card is mainly geared towards graphics it still surpasses AMDs current integrated GPU lineup, including the Radeon 780M.

It’s worth mentioning that the Navi 24 GPU, when utilized in a desktop setup has limitations. The Radeon RX 6500XT supports 4 PCIe Gen4 lanes. Features a 64 bit memory bus, which could impact its overall performance. Furthermore the card comes with two display connectors, which might be seen as a downside, by some users.

ASRocks choice to introduce the Radeon RX 6500XT Phantom Gaming with 8GB VRAM follows the trend set by manufacturers like Sapphire and PELADN who have previously launched models. Although exact pricing information has not been officially disclosed yet the card is currently on sale in Japan, for around 32,800 yen ( $210 USD) giving consumers an indication of what to anticipate in terms of cost.
