Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have introduced updates to the Apex Legends Battle Pass system for the Season 22. However these changes have not been well received by the games loyal player community. The new Battle Pass format, aimed at enhancing player experience and progression objectives has instead led to frustration and bewilderment, among fans of the battle royale game.
In the revised structure the Apex Legends Battle Pass will now be divided into two passes per season each offering 60 levels of rewards for players to unlock. This adjustment is designed to seasonal advancement with the games Ranked mode and provide players with enhanced rewards for their time commitment. Yet the decision to charge $10 for each half season Premium pass and eliminate the option to purchase passes using Apex Coins has sparked opposition, from players.
Apex Legends Players Express Frustration and Disappointment
Many players of Apex Legends have expressed their dissatisfaction, with the changes to the Battle Pass on media and various online platforms. Some players have highlighted that the updated system seems to increase the cost of the Battle Pass for those who used to earn Apex Coins in game to fund future passes. Concerns have also been raised about how these alterations could affect player engagement and retention.
Despite facing criticism, EA and Respawn stand by their decision stating that the revamped Battle Pass structure will provide rewards and benefits for both Premium players. They have also introduced a Premium+ package priced at $19.99 offering perks like Exotic Shards, exclusive character skin variations and temporary access to all Legends. With Season 22, on the horizon it remains uncertain whether the Apex Legends community will embrace these Battle Pass changes or if debates surrounding them will continue to overshadow game updates.
